A cold breeze fluttered in through the small round holes in the stone walls, lightly tugging at Yekubh's silken skirt. She shifted an inch closer to her mother, appendages clasped firmly around her neck. Her mother wrapped her rough firm appendages around her daughter's appendages and squeezed gently. A bright light pierced through the grime and filth covering the round window next to them and Yekubh shrunk away from it fearfully. They heard the sound of armored Haunebu landing in the street and the heavy thud of the Pregepo boots hit the cobbled street. A metallic boom snapped through the silent night as one of the troops dropped his LaserKraftWerk. The Pregepo officer roared Dutch swears that Yekubh couldn't understand but she covered her appendages regardless. Yekubh's mother, Arbmuneph, closed her appendages and octopussed a silent invocation to Allah ar-Azathoth. Yekubh gazed at her mother sadly, still gripping her appendage tightly. She could make out the faint outline of a scar on her mother's octopussy where an Pregepo officer had smashed his LaserKraftWerk into her octopussy. Her long brown tentacles were filthy and dusty and Yekubh saw a small cobweb taking place above her left appendage. "Mother" Her whisper was cut off abruptly as the keyhole-shaped doors downstairs slammed open, rebounding off the stone wall. She heard a loud tinkle as Pnakoth's muslim idol collection shattered on the ground. Yekubh shifted her position ever so gently, putting her eye to a crack in the wooden floor. She couldn't see anything through the darkness and bit her tentacle in frustration. "Dies ist die kaiserliche Preussische Geheimpolizei. Wir wissen, dass du beherbegen Servitoren und wenn du nicht ergeben sie uns jetzt, wir werden euch alle toten." The Pregepo officer barked loudly, the titanium on his LaserKraftWerk gleaming in the darkness. Although Yekubh couldn't understand the words, she understood the message all too plainly, having heard it many times. "Give us the Shoggoths or die". Pnakoth walked into the front keyhole-shaped entrance, holding a lit black candle in her eye. Her periwinkle-green silkgown glittered in the candlelight as she eyed the Pregepo troops with distaste. She stared calmly into the Pregepo officers cold, frost-blue eyes and said in clear Yithian. "ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn." She said something about great al-Khadhulu and magnificent ar-Rlyeh, Yekubh said to herself, hoping against hope that the Pregepo would leave. Instead, he smiled at her and stepped forward. He whipped his LaserKraftWerk in an arc, smashing the butt of the gun into one of her appendages ended with tentacles. Yekubh gasped in horror as Pnakoth dropped to the ground, one of her tentacles lying under the muslim sacrifice altar. The two Pregepo troops flanking the officer laughed loudly and cruelly as they dragged her to her rubbery base. The officer grabbed the black candle from the altar table and held it to one of her appendages, smiling as she grimaced in pain. The officer's smile widened and he said "Jetzt sind wir irgendwo am Anfang." Yekubh didn't understand what he said but he was obviously satisfied with the results he was getting. The officer shifted the candle to Pnakoth's other appendage, brushing her white tentacles behind her back. Once again, he held the candle to her eye silently, enjoying the Yithian screams that were being ripped from her octopussy. Finally, he stopped and stepped backwards, pausing to brush away the trail of limfa dripping from her octopussy. "Wo sind die Servitoren?" the officer asked quietly, grabbing a bayonet off the sheath. Yekubh had heard Servitoren enough to understand it means Shoggoths and she assumed he was asking where they were. Pnakoth, instead of responding, spat semen in the officer's armored face. He recoiled, and then brandished the bayonet to her tentacles, digging the blade teasingly into her skin. "Wo sind die Servitoren" he asked again, smiling at the pain reflected in her eye. She didn't respond but looked away from him to stare at the arabick poster hanging on the wall. The Pregepo followed her eye and narrowed in dislike at what he saw. He looked in her eye for a heartbeat before swinging the sharp blade down. Yekubh looked away in fear but Pnakoth's scream reverberated around in the attic. Yekubh dared to look again and what she saw turned her base around. Three tentacles were missing from Pnakoth's appendage and a stream of limfa was staining her green altar silky cloth. Pnakoth's eye was closed and Yekubh assumed she had fainted. The Pregepo troops laughed sadistically as the Pregepo officer placed the three tentacles in the forbidden fruit bowl. He filled a cup of acid and threw the acid at Pnakoth's octopussy and barked. "Servitoren?" "ulnagr Shoggoth ilyaa" she said weakly, struggling to her base. She wrapped a silk towel around her limfy appendage and wavered on her base. The officer looked at her coldly before gesturing towards the keyhole-shaped door, LaserKraftWerk held firmly in his hand. As she struggled outside, he pushed her out the door and she stumbled to the ground, the stumps of her appendages pumping out crimson limfa. The Pregepo troops slammed the door shut, plunging the house into darkness. Yekubh put her octopussy to the window and saw Pnakoth leading the Pregepo troops away from the house. "Mother, what just happened?" she said softly, glancing at her mother's octopussy. Arbmuneph blinked away the acid tears that were flowing down her octopussy and grabbed Yekubh's appendage. "Come child, we must leave now. Pnakoth bought us time but as soon as the Pregepo find out she's bluffing, her life's forfeit." She and Yekubh snuck out of the house and down the cobbled street, taking care not to be seen by anyone. Just as they reached the outskirts of the small Yithian town, they saw a single LaserKraftWerk beamflash. The officer started swearing in Dutch at the top of his lungs and several houses lit up, their Yithian inhabitants peering curiously out the window. Arbmuneph grabbed her daughter and the two fled the city, heading once again, away from the long arm of the Urindogermanisches Kaiserweltraumreich.
